About Ken's Sporting Goods

In the early 70s, Ken attended the University of San Diego. He was offered a free agent contract with the Texas Rangers, but due to a new addition to the Bretsch family (Jason), he turned it down.

With his wife Linda, Ken opened Ken's Sporting Goods in 1976. Linda's experience as a bookkeeper for a hospital helped to keep Ken's Sporting Goods financially fit during its early years. Linda now expertly runs the U-n-Urs embroidery department.

Ken and Linda have 3 children — Jason, Nicole, and Andrea — who all work at the store and are great contributors to the store's success. Every day, Ken and Linda thank their lucky stars because they have truly been blessed with a great family at home and a wonderful family of customers at their store.
